And it Begins....

I'm home!

The surgery went great, and I was only in the hospital for a few days.  Now its time to heal up and get in to shape.  I already did some squats this morning so that I could see just what I'm capable of.  I was able to to do 16 fairly deep squats while holding onto a chair, but got a little light headed afterwards and my incisions started to hurt some.

I'm able to eat fairly well.  Everything that I eat at the moment makes my stomach hurt, but that's because I still have a lot of gas and swelling from the surgery.  My first meal when I got home was macaroni and cheese (hell yeah!), and I had a bowl of cereal and a half of a small pizza so far today.  Not exactly health food, but for now I'm on a low fiber diet and need to eat high calorie foods since I can't fit much in my stomach.

I know that I need to take it easy, but if I listened to the doctors advice last time, I might still be using a walker.  Funny story (at least to me) - last time I had surgery, I needed to use a walker.  I have a very weird sense of humor, and so decided to name my walker (it was Walker, Texas Ranger).  We met up with some friends one night at Chili's, and everyone was picking on me, saying we needed to go out to a night club and go dancing.  I told them that they better watch out cause Walker Texas Ranger was gonna turn into my Nasty Dancer!  Every time that I think about that, I get that song stuck in my head.....
