Today has been interesting.  I went with my wife to run errands, and got a really good workout in the process.
We went to Wal-Mart, Big Lots, some dollar store, and Bed Bath and Beyond.  All of that equals up to a whole lot of walking, especially for someone who just had surgery a week ago.  By the time we were finished, I was extremely worn out and definitely ready to go home.  But, after getting home and resting for a few minutes, I felt fine.  I'm still tired, but it's not as bad as I thought that it would be.
I guess I'll recuperate faster than I originally thought.  I'm still soar and very swollen, but I am able to get around very easily and don't mind being in pain if it is the good kind (like today).
The only problem that I have run into is the other night when I slept in my bed.  My stomach was stretched out all night long, and this made a part of my incision open up.  It is in a spot that couldn't have staples due to the weird angle, so it was leaking for a while.
I finally drank a soft drink today, and did not get gas from it.  I was afraid to drink one before since my body can't handle food and drinks properly at the moment.  After my last surgery I drank a Coke and it felt like my stomach would explode, so this time I decided to wait a little while.  This time I had a Mountain Dew (less carbonated) and felt fine.
On a completely unrelated note, it looks like both LSU and Southern have a really good chance of winning their conference championships.  Its really fun being a college sports fan in Baton Rouge!
